Protesters, including students and civilians, demonstrated against the quota system in Bangladesh's cities, including Dhaka and Chittagong.

The protests were forcefully disbanded by the authorities, resulting in the scattering of the crowds and the arrest of at least 80 individuals.

The ruling party, Awami League members, also obstructed protest activities in specific locations.

A coalition of students from various universities and colleges recently staged protests to voice their dissatisfaction with the detention of six leaders of the quota reform demonstration.

They were reportedly pressured by the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police to release a statement urging an end to the protests.

Yesterday afternoon in Chittagong, police detained at least 10 students after dispersing a protest by around 100 students in the Jamal Khan area.

According to witnesses, a group of university and college students assembled at the Cheragi intersection at approximately 3:00 pm to organize a rally.

A significant presence of police, BGB, RAB, and army personnel was observed in the area.

A tense situation unfolded as a group of 100-150 leaders and activists from the Jubo League and Chhatra League, led by Chittagong City Corporation ward-21 Councillor Saibal Das Sumon, arrived at the scene and verbally harassed the protesters.

In a disturbing incident, two students were reportedly assaulted by members of the Jubo League and Chhatra League before being handed over to the police.

The authorities then proceeded to transport the students in a prison van.

During the incident, as students tried to release the detainees, law enforcement officers resorted to the use of truncheons.

A group of demonstrators assembled near the Kadam Mubarak mosque, raising their voices in a chorus of slogans.

In the late afternoon, law enforcement deployed stun grenades and tear gas canisters against the individuals. In the incident, three police officers and a journalist named Abu Jabed from News 24 TV sustained injuries.

During a recent incident, a group of protesters resorted to violence by throwing brick chunks at the police near Andarkilla Shahi Jame Masjid around 5:00 pm. In response, law enforcers had to take action by firing rubber bullets and teargas to disperse the crowd.

In response to the recent curfew, Mostafizur Rahman, the deputy commissioner (south) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, stated that the police have taken action due to the prohibition on gatherings and protests.

Yesterday, authorities in the capital detained many individuals from various locations.

Abdul Kader, the coordinator of the quota reform protest, took to social media on Sunday night to announce their plans for demonstrations in eight locations across the capital.

These locations include Science Lab, Gate-8 of North South University, Jatiya Press Club, BNS Centre in Uttara, Mirpur-10, ECB Chattar in Mirpur, Rampura, and Mohakhali.

According to witnesses, a crowd of protesters assembled near the ECB Chattar around noon.

At approximately 1:00 pm, law enforcement initiated the pursuit after the individuals began vocalizing their slogans.

Law enforcement officials detained at least 18 demonstrators.

The police arrested at least 10 protesters at the Mirpur-10 intersection; another 10 were taken into custody in front of Star Kabab in Dhanmondi.

At the same time, two individuals from Purana Paltan were apprehended. Additionally, six protesters were detained in Badda, and 10 more were arrested in Uttara.

According to two security staffers from a private university in the Bashundhara Residential Area, students have gathered in front of gates 1, 2, and 5 since 10:00 am.

The staffers, who wished to remain anonymous, shared this information. At least 15 individuals were detained by the police and loaded onto three police vans by 1:30 pm.

A group of students from Jahangirnagar University organized a protest, calling for the immediate and unconditional release of the coordinators of the quota reform protest and other detained individuals.

Several teachers from JU have shown their support for the protesters.

Many students from Rajshahi University took to the streets today, causing significant disruption on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway.

Their protest responded to the recent detention of six coordinators involved in the quota reform movement.

The students blocked the highway for approximately 40 minutes, making their voices heard and expressing their discontent.

A crowd gathered, their voices united in a mighty chorus, as they called for justice in the wake of their fellow students' tragic deaths.

Their impassioned pleas echoed through the air, urging that those responsible be held accountable for their actions.

According to reports, a group of individuals believed to be affiliated with the Chhatra League allegedly assaulted several demonstrators near the administrative building of Barishal University. The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 pm and resulted in injuries sustained by at least 15 students.

According to Sujoy Subho, who was among the injured, a group of around 40-50 individuals associated with the Chhatra League allegedly launched an attack on the students. At the same time, they were engaged in a discussion about their plans.

The attackers were reportedly armed with sticks.

A protest was organized by students of Government Brojomohun (BM) College in the Nathullabad Central Bus Terminal area of Barisal City.

Students in Noakhali staged a protest by blocking the Dhaka-Noakhali highway in front of Noakhali Zilla for three hours, starting at 2:00 pm and 2:00 pm.

Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi, a cultural platform, faced obstacles in holding a protest rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club yesterday afternoon due to the presence of law enforcers who had cordoned off the area.

In a surprising turn of events, specific organisers of the quota reform protest have outrightly dismissed the government's plea for a nationwide mourning in honor of the lives lost during the recent wave of violence.

In a call to action, they encouraged students from all educational institutions and the public to don red clothing and share their photos online today.

The coordinators announced their decision in a press release signed by Mahin Sarker, a coordinator of the Anti-discriminatory Student Movement. The release was distributed to the media at approximately 9:30 pm.

"The government needs to be reminded that throughout the history of Bengal, no movement has ever been successfully suppressed by resorting to violence against students."

"We urge the immediate acceptance of our nine-point demand to restore stability to the country," stated the group.

Their demands involve seeking an apology from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as well as the resignations of several key government officials, including Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Law Minister Anisul Huq, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, and State Minister for Post, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
