The United States of America (USA) greeted Bangladesh on its Independence Day and expressed its pride in collaborating with Bangladesh on many urgent matters.

In a statement on the eve of the Independence Day celebration on 26 March, US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken extended his congratulations to the people of Bangladesh on behalf of the United States of America.

In the communication accessible on the official website of the US State Department, Blinken expressed the United States' satisfaction in collaborating with Bangladesh on various urgent matters of contemporary significance. These include efforts to mitigate climate change, promote economic progress, address the Rohingya refugee crisis, assist peacekeeping operations on a global scale, and tackle global health challenges.

"Our collaboration is crucial in guaranteeing a liberated, transparent, protected, and thriving Indo-Pacific region," he said.

The statement reads that as Bangladesh commemorates another year of independence, we reiterate our commitment to enhancing democratic government and safeguarding human rights. These efforts are expected to improve Bangladesh's economy.

Blinken expressed his sincere well-wishes to the people of Bangladesh on this significant occasion and anticipates further strengthening the bilateral relationship and interpersonal connections between the two nations in the next year.
