According to hospital officials, a devastating Israeli air strike on a camp for displaced people outside a school in southern Gaza has resulted in the loss of at least 29 Palestinian lives and left dozens wounded.

According to the health ministry in Gaza, a strike occurred near the entrance of al-Awda school in Abasan al-Kabira, located to the east of Khan Younis.

The Israeli military claimed to have employed a "precise monition" to specifically target an individual it identified as a member of Hamas' military wing.

According to the Israeli military, this individual was allegedly involved in the attack on Israel that occurred on 7 October.

The organisation stated that it is currently investigating the allegations of civilian casualties near al-Awda school, where individuals who have been displaced from the eastern villages of Khan Younis are being housed.

In a development that occurred just a week after the Israeli military issued an order for civilians to evacuate Abasan al-Kabira and other parts of eastern Khan Younis, tens of thousands of people were compelled to flee the area.

Witnesses described a scene filled with displaced individuals and provided vivid accounts of the violent aftermath.

Witnesses reported widespread destruction and the tragic loss of innocent lives, including women and children.

There was a disturbing scene at the site, with body parts strewn about and numerous individuals in the nearby tent encampment sustaining injuries.

Ayman Al-Dahma, 21, revealed that the area was teeming with approximately 3,000 individuals at the time of the incident. Al-Dahma noted that the area consisted of a market and residential buildings.

He described the number of casualties as "unimaginable". He recounted witnessing individuals with severed limbs as a result of the blast.

He expressed his disappointment in his statement, recounting the promises about the place being safe and well-equipped with water, food, and schools. Out of nowhere, a rocket descends upon you and the unsuspecting crowd.

Mohamed Awadeh Anzeh said the area was bustling with individuals and market traders, simply going about their daily routines when the strike unexpectedly occurred.

He described the events: "Out of nowhere, a sudden noise disrupted our peaceful moment." The room suddenly plunged into darkness... I was tending to my young child.

There is uncertainty surrounding the events that transpired. Out of nowhere, I grabbed my child and began sprinting... amid my frantic escape, I noticed blood trickling down from my leg.

The scene he described was truly horrifying, with body parts scattered across the street.

Iqram Sallout said there was no advance notice of a possible strike in the area. He mentioned that the area was populated by people who had been displaced due to the ongoing conflict.

"The streets were filled with tents and people, including young individuals, making walking impossible without encountering the numerous displaced individuals."

He stated that the injuries observed were quite severe, even among young children.

A video captured a distressing scene inside a local hospital, revealing the tragic sight of numerous lifeless and severely injured individuals, including innocent children.

According to a source at the Nasser hospital in Khan Younis, there are concerns that the number of casualties from Abasan al-Kabira will rise in the coming hours.

In the past four days, there have been four attacks on or near schools that are providing shelter to displaced people.

According to the Israeli military, the first three strikes were conducted due to Hamas politicians, police officers, and fighters utilsing them as bases.

According to the Hamas-run health ministry, a tragic incident occurred on Saturday in the urban Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

A strike at a UN-run school resulted in the loss of 16 lives. The school was serving as a temporary home to approximately 2,000 displaced individuals.

According to local sources, a tragic incident occurred on Sunday when a church-run school in Gaza City was struck, resulting in the death of a senior Hamas government official and three other individuals.

Reports indicate that on Monday night, a strike occurred at a UN-run school in Nuseirat, resulting in injuries to multiple individuals.

In response to a devastating attack on southern Israel on 7 October, the Israeli military has initiated a campaign in Gaza to dismantle the Hamas group.

The attack resulted in the tragic loss of approximately 1,200 lives and the capture of 251 individuals.

According to the health ministry run by Hamas, the death toll in Gaza has surpassed 38,240 people.
